The Jefferson Parish Water Department is urging East Bank and West Bank residents to conserve water as soon as possible to help minimize overloading the system, which could result in a boil water advisory.
Temperatures are expected to surpass 30 degrees around 9 a.m., therefore residents can now stop trickling water. Please also continue to limit non-essential activities like washing dishes and doing laundry.
Westwego City Hall will Remain CLOSED for Thursday January 23rd. Please Stay Safe
According to the National Weather Service, an extremely cold air mass is expected to reach our area. A hard freeze and low temperatures will begin on Monday, January 20, 2025, and could last through Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

NEWS Report: A Transformer has blown at the 1200 block of East Drive in Westwego. Entergy is on the ground working to repair the Transformer. This is affecting the Entire City of Westwego power source.
A message from Waste Connections about Christmas Tree Pick Up:
Trees will be collected January 9th, 10th, 11th. Any trees put out before then or after then will be collected with normal routes.
Trees must meet the following guidelines in order to be recycled:
•No flocked trees
•No artificial trees
•No painted trees
•No lights, garland, tinsel, ornaments, tree stands or plastic bags
