Muller Motor Company
E. August Muller purchased property on November 2, 1901 at 177 Sala Avenue where he established a hardware store.
In 1912, he founded Muller Motor Company and he converted his hardware store into a dealership. This automobile dealership was one of the first on the West Bank. They sold Ford Model Ts and Lincoln automobiles as well as Fordson Tractors.
The Muller Family lived in a home behind the company on the corner of First Street and Avenue "A."
In 1946, a fire destroyed the original building. It was rebuilt in 1947 and went out of business circa early 1960s .
It was refurbished as the Westwego Community Center in conjunction with the newly constructed Westwego Theater for the Performing Arts.
