Farmers Market
The Westwego Farmers & Fisheries Market provides a free community gathering place and market featuring locally grown produce, fresh seafood, prepared foods, arts and crafts, and regional music in our beautiful and unique facility which provides a safe environment for meaningful family shopping and entertainment that embraces and enhances our local and regional cultural legacy and culinary heritage.
This multi-million-dollar Market complex, constructed to depict historic Westwego, has over 40 booth spaces under cover with electricity for all and water for seafood vendors. Additional space on the park-like grounds is available for vendors as well. The center piece of the Market is the Gem Theatre, an amphitheater in which we will highlight performances by regional bands and other performing groups. In addition to the Market there is a full calendar of special events/festivals throughout the year.
Westwego Farmers & Fisheries Market offers a Bi-Monthly Tuesday markets, Weekend Farmers Markets, Annual Crawfish Cook Off, Sala Street Fest, Big Wheels in Westwego, PET FEST, Westwego Cypress Swamp Fest, the spring and fall Friday Night Concerts, plus several special holiday activities for the children in the community to include the pumpkin patch, Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas parties and more.
