Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the City of Westwego will hold the monthly meeting for May in the following manner:

  1. You can view the meeting on the City of Westwego’s Facebook Page live on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
  2. The only people that will be allowed in the Council Chambers will be those wishing to acquire an occupational license. 
  3. If you are coming to acquire an occupational license, you must wear a mask to enter and someone will seat you.  After you have addressed the board, you will be required to leave.  There will be NO exceptions.
  4. If you have a question that you would like to ask the Mayor or City Council, you can email it to georgia@cityofwestwego.com up until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11th. We will do our best to answer your questions.

RESOLUTIONS FOR ADOPTION

Offered by Council Member Nobles:

A resolution accepting the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire for Louisiana Municipalities, as completed for the City of Westwego by the Mayor and his staff, as a required part of the audit for which the City has recently engaged a Certified Public Accountant.

Offered by Council Member Nobles:

A resolution authorizing the City of Westwego to adopt the updated 2020 Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update prepared and completed by City of Westwego, Jefferson Parish Floodplain Management and Hazard Mitigation Department, and Barowka and Bonura Engineers and Consultants, LLC (BBEC) under contract RP-0352, utilizing funding provided from HMA Grants FMA-PL-06-LA-2016-008 and PDMC-PL-06-LA-2016-002. (Parishwide)

ORDINANCES FOR INTRODUCTION

Offered by Council Member Nobles:

An ordinance authorizing the City of Westwego to dispose of, in accordance with Louisiana law, certain property that is no longer needed for public use.

Offered by Council Member Rivere:

An ordinance regulating the placement of political signs, including the size of signs, the number of signs, the period before an election that signs can be put out and the period of time after an election that the signs must be picked up.
