Beginning on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, Entergy will be performing work on transmission lines in the area of Lapalco Boulevard between Victory Drive and Segnette Boulevard. A single lane closure on northbound Victory Drive will begin January 2, 2018 and will end on Friday January 5, 2018. In addition, a complete closure of East Drive between Lapalco Boulevard and Pecan Street will begin Monday, January 8, 2018 and end Friday January 12, 2018.
During the course of the work, the following closures will apply:
· Lapalco Boulevard and Victory Drive – the northbound lane of Victory Drive will close daily from 7:00am to 5:00pm; the southbound lane will remain open for travel.
· East Drive between Lapalco Boulevard and Pecan Street – both the north and southbound lanes of East Drive will close daily from 7:00am to 5:00pm; motorists will detour westbound on Pecan Street to southbound Central Avenue.
Additionally, on January 17, 2018, Lapalco Boulevard will close intermittently 15 minutes at a time for technician drop off and pick up by helicopter on the Entergy Transmission towers near the Lapalco Bridge over Bayou Segnette. The exact flight times will depend upon the weather and how long the work takes on each tower. Hard closures will be police controlled at Tanglewood Drive, Segnette Boulevard and the Nicolle Boulevard northbound right turn lane.
Entergy is performing the work, and all work should be complete on January 18, 2018, barring any contractor delay and weather permitting.
